Since Easter is next Sunday, I thought it was about time to fill in the empty space on my mantle. The Mr. T says the mantle doesn’t have to be perfect the first year in this house, but I’m not sure he’s right. I don’t think it’s finished, but I like what I have so far. I’ll try to make sure I give credit for all the ideas. I try to mark them in de-lic-ious when I find them.
First up is the wooden sign. No credit to be given because this is mine. I found the quote from Robert Frost online and thought it made a cute sign for the mantle. I used contact paper for the relief image and then colored vinyl purchased from Expressions Vinyl for the sun, wind and April. I had to outline the words with sharpie when I was finished because I couldn’t see them very well.
Next is the felt chocolate bunny. I got the idea from ______ (I’m still trying to find the post.) I made a few for my teacher friends at school and put a sign on them that says 100% fat free chocolate bunny. They make me smile.
I also made some Spring scrabble tiles – idea from Under my Polka Dot Umbrella. I LOVE these!!!
And last but not least, the big wooden bowl I mentioned in my last post is finished with some crinkly brown paper and my Spring eggs.
Since I went with more Spring than Easter on most of this, it can stay up past next week.
I’m working on some new “upcycled” Easter baskets. I hope to have them posted this week. Our Spring Break starts Wednesday afternoon. YEAH!!!
