When I saw the Iron Crafter over at Fireflies and Jellybeans I knew I wanted to participate (They used a Cat Cora image, I was hooked). The secret ingredient is recycled can, but tins also counted. I made one of these for my daughters friend and have had the tins around to make some for my two oldest daughters. They play sports and need a place (0ther than their shirt hem or shoe strings) to keep their earrings during games. This is a perfect solution.
I used a PURE mint tin. They are very small.
Trace around the top and bottom of the mint tin. I cut just inside the line. Glue to top and bottom of tin (I used my E-6000 glue, but mod podge would work also)Using my permanent double stick tape, cover the sides of the lid and bottom with ribbon.
Cut a piece of felt the size of the bottom of the tin and glue it in place (you will need to pull the mirror section out first). This provides a soft place for the earrings to set so they don’t rattle around in the tin.Tie a ribbon on the insert, this makes it easier to pull the insert out. Put the mirrored insert back in. Embellish the lid of the tin.
The earring holder is ready to travel and it has a handy mirror too.
That is such a good idea. I lose so much jewelry while traveling. Good luck!
